+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Final CFP with extended paper submission deadline AUTOMATA 2010 16th International Workshop on Cellular Automata and Discrete Complex Systems. http://automata.loria.fr/ To be held in Nancy, France June 14-16, 2010 AUTOMATA 2010 is organized by the INRIA Nancy - Grand Est research center The workshop will host the annual meeting of the IFIP Working group 1.5 on Cellular Automata and Discrete Complex Systems. AUTOMATA 2010 is co-located with SOLSTICE'10, the 2nd Summer Solstice International Conference on Complex systems on 16-18 June. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Papers presenting original and unpublished research on all fundamental aspects of cellular automata and related discrete complex systems are sought. Topic of interest include (but are not limited to): Dynamics, Algebraic aspects, Complexity issues, Emergent properties, Formal language processing, Models of parallelism and distributed systems, Phenomenological descriptions, Scientific modeling and Practical applications. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Important Dates * Full Paper Submission Deadline: Extended to April 6, 2010 * Author Notification: May 9, 2010 * Final Manuscript Due: May 23, 2010 * Short Paper Submission Deadline: May 23, 2010 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Paper Categories There are two paper categories - full and short contributions. Full papers are meant to report more complete and denser research, while the later submission deadline of short papers allows quick reporting of most recent discoveries, work-in-progress and/or partial results. Papers in the full paper category are refereed and selected by the program committee. Papers in the short category go through a less rigorous evaluation for suitability. Full papers receive a longer time slot for presentation in the workshop. The spirit of the workshop is to foster collaborations and exchanges between researchers. Emphasis will be put to allow enough time for questions and discussions after the talks. We also plan to have an open problem session to allow discussions between participants. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Proceedings * Papers in both categories are made available in printed form to all participants of the workshop. * Papers in the full paper category will form an online proceedings volume of DMTCS (Discrete Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Science). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Submission Guidelines Papers should not exceed 20 pages (full paper category) or 10 pages (short paper category), and they should be formatted in LaTeX using the DMTCS specifications and DMTCS LaTeX class file available at http://www.dmtcs.org/sample The paper should be submitted as a pdf-file using the EasyChair -conference system at http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=automata2010 The submission may contain an appendix that exceeds the page limit (and that will not be included in the proceedings volume) if the author wants to provide the PC with more details than allowed by the strict page limit. For more details, see the Call for Papers page http://automata.loria.fr/CFP.html of the workshop. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Special Issue A special issue of JCA (Journal of Cellular Automata) will be edited after the workshop. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Program committee Alejandro Maass (CL) - University of Chile Andreas Deutsch (DE) - Dresden University of Technology Andy Adamatzky (UK) - University of the West of England Anna Lawniczak (CA) - University of Guelph Danuta Makowiec (PL) - Gdansk University Enrico Formenti (FR) - University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis Ferdinand Peper (JP) - National Institute of Information and Communications Technology Georgios Sirakoulis (GR) - Democritus University of Thrace Guillaume Theyssier (FR) - University of Savoie Henryk Fuks (CA) - Brock University Hiroshi Umeo (JP) - University of Osaka Electro-Communication Jarkko Kari (FI) chair - University of Turku Jean-Baptiste Yunès (FR) - University of Paris 7 Juan Carlos Seck (MX) - Autonomous University of Hidalgo State Kenichi Morita (JP) - Hiroshima University Klaus Sutner (USA) - Carnegie Mellon University Laurent Vuillon (FR) - University of Savoie Martin Kutrib (DE) - University of Giessen Maurice Margenstern (FR) - University of Metz Nazim Fatès (FR) co-chair - INRIA Nancy Grand-Est Nicolas Ollinger (FR) - University of Provence Paola Flocchini (CA) - University of Ottawa Pedro de Oliveira (BR) - Mackenzie Presbyterian University Stefania Bandini (IT) - University of Milano - Bicocca Thomas Worsch (DE) - University of Karlsruhe --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
